Platinum selling recording artist, songwriter and producer. Born Ronald Fritz Jr he emigrated to the UK from Jamaica/Clarendon with his family. As a child growing up he was heavily influenced by his fathers love for music, which was expressed mostly via a sound system that his father owned called SHINING STAR.
Growing up within a home that was always rich in music with the likes of Peter Tosh, Lucky Dube, Sam Cooke and Tracey Chapman bouncing off its walls, it is no wonder why RV would then grow to become one of UK's leading voices in modern Roots Reggae.
He started off his music career in 2005 as a local DJ, where he used to perform in clubs in and out of London which led to him working for two years on a online Radio Station SWITCH 106 where he went by the moniker DJ Kwes.
In 2008, he joined forces with friends Jae5 and Kevin 'Blemish' Ababio to form a London-based artist development and production team J.O.A.T.
At this point RV started to develop and exercise his passion for composing instrumentals that varies in sounds and styles and even a greater likening for producing for other artists, Stormzy, J Hus, Konshens and Fuse ODG just to name a few.
In 2011 RV released his first self composed single Sing My Blues Away ft UK rapper Jedi. It wasn't long after performing at a string of prestigious Open Mic events in and around London the likes of 'ILUVLIVE and S4S' with guitarist friend David Wehimn, that in an effort to focus more on his potential career as an artist he met and joined forces with Swiss based producer and Indie label owner Gary 'Riga' Burke of Hemp Higher Productions.
RV's career continued to grow from strength to strength since the release of his debut mixtape "'Bring Back The Love' in 2012 where he sang over 13 tracks – all built upon Studio One Riddims, such as “Stalag Riddim”, “Bobby Babylon Riddim”, “Lecturer Riddim” and more… Since then, it has been described by some to be a Reggae Classic.
The official “RV-lution Summer Tour 2013” was one of the biggest reggae tours for a debut reggae artist and saw him perform over 20 shows in more than 10 different European countries. Needless to say, such anticipation from the fans allowed him to follow up with 2 No1 Projects on iTunes reggae: “Break The Chain” (2014) and “Still Pushing” (2015). This success caught the attention of a list of the worlds most recognised composers, Major Lazer who featured him on their Billboard no1 Album 'Peace Is The Mission' with single “Roll the Bass” that has racked up over 20 Million views to date, Cilvaringz producer of the million dollar “Once Upon a Time in Shaolin” Wu-Tang Album and Jake Savona producer of the ground breaking album 'Havana meets Kingston' that features RV on three of its compositions.
Another transitional period for him in his career came in 2016 when RV decided to be the navigator of his own destiny and became his own manager of his musical affairs both in creation and in business, to further align his path with his philosophy of 'Self Reliance and Self Governance'.
That same year he released the 'Radio Music Raptape' mixed by Straight Sound feat. artists Kabaka Pyramid, Gappy Ranks, Call P, Walshy Fire, Seani B, Bobby Konders and list of other Dj's. The concept was to merge with creatives within his field to create a 1 hour special packaged as a Radio station on the frequency "98.CheckYourself".
This Independent artist continues his dynamic delivery of work, with his art, he speaks volumes on thought provoking matters with the aim to inspire the next generation of creatives.
By 2017 RV managed to successfully organise his first official promo run (Same War Tour) that connected him with 14 different countries across the globe from Trinidad, California, Canada and parts of Europe.
Through his travels he's developed a militant mind a loving heart and a humbling spirit which he expresses on his latest project to date the 'New Narrative', a Top10 billboard recognised composition with a whopping bundle of 9 tracks produced in collaboration with California based producers Royal order Music and Loud City Music.
This project takes you through some of Randy Valentine's life journey conveying the power to manifest one's own destiny. Self-reliance is a huge daily conversation as far as Randy is concerned it is something we should learn from as young as possible.
In an initiative inspired by his expeditions, Randy Valentine launched his own Artist Development Camp (TROOTS MUSIC) with the ethos "To create a creative space for the creatives to create"
With this and his many other ventures he plans to build a bridge for the nation builders to come and to leave a lasting legacy that will serve as a lighthouse in the world of music and life itself. This all together stands as the RVLUTION in process.
